Lucille E. Fryslie, age 89, Vienna, the widow of Marvin Fryslie, died peacefully in the Bryant Parkview Care Center on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10AM in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Vienna with The Reverend Kathy Hibbert officiating. Dorothy Fuller will be the organist with The Reverend Fred Rosin as soloist. Casketbearers will be Greg Poppenga, Stan & Steve Fryslie, Elwood Gronewald, Roy Gjerde and Norm Vig Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to services. Burial will follow in the Vienna Lutheran Cemetery. Lucille Emma Curtis Fryslie was born to Mary (Lee) and Clarence Curtis of Hurley, SD on 21 August 1925. She attended school in Hurley, worked as a telephone switchboard operator and received her Registered Nursing degree from Presentation College School of Nursing at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls where she worked until her marriage to Marvin Fryslie on 12 July 1952. Lucille was very involved in farming activities and an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vienna. Her loves were her family, little children and animals and helping others. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the late 1990's and went to live in the Bryant Parkview Care Center Nursing Home in January 2001 where she resided until she passed away 2 June 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, her father, Clarence; husband Marvin, a sister Lois Poppenga and a brother-in-law, Donald Davy. Survivors are her daughter, Arlette of Yucca Valley, CA; son, Alfred of Vienna; sister, Ruth Davy of Viborg; brother-in-law, Donald (Elizabeth) Fryslie of Watertown; 28 nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers a donation to Bryant Parkview Care Center Nursing Home, Prairie Lakes Hospice or Alzheimer's research.
