Lowell was born on December 11, 1935 in Bradley, SD at the Bradley Hospital to Alline and Austin Wahl. During most of his childhood he attended a one room school house just a stone's throw away from his family farm in Clark County. He graduated from Clark High School in 1953.
In June 1954, he wed the love of his life, Norma Ohman. Together they raised two girls while growing the family farm. He served well the community he loved. He was a member of the Lions Club for many years, the Clark Jaycees, served on the Clark Community Oil board as well as an officer of the Clark Golf Club. He was a long time score keeper for the boys' basketball games and played fast pitch softball for many years playing third base on a very competitive Imperial Lounge team.
He loved to fish, hunt and play golf. He loved his family and was a steward of the land. Although Lowell and his wife loved to travel and see the world, nothing was better than coming back to Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bryce and his sister, Marilyn.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife of over sixty years, Norma of Clark; his daughters Vicky (Mike) Bowers of Rapid City and Diane (Michael) Olson of Kansas City; grandchildren Blake, Patrick (Sabrina), Matthew, Ryleigh, and Taylor; and great grandchildren Alina and Mary Anne. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Clark Lions Club in his memory.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Furness Funeral Home of Clark where there is an online guestbook at www.furnessfuneralhome.com .
