Burial will follow in the St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery. She was born Lois Elaine Zugschwerdt, December 14, 1929, on a farm north of Henry, the daughter of Chester and Orpha (Reiter) Zugschwerdt. Lois attended country school and then graduated salutatorian of the Henry High School, Class of 1947. Later that fall, on October 9 of 1947, she was united in marriage to Calvin Schoepp at the Catholic rectory of St. Henry's Church. The couple moved to the farm in Elrod Township, Clark County, southwest of Henry following their marriage and have lived and farmed there since. Lois took an active part in almost all of the farming operations, from milking to raising chickens, gathering 1000's of eggs over the years and selling them to grocery stores in the area. She could add a list of numbers in her head faster than most of us could do so on a calculator. She raised a large garden and canned all of it. Lois will long be remembered as a wonderful cook and using that skill in being an active part of the St. Henry's Annual Hunters Dinner. She also played piano, learning by ear and over the years, teaching herself how to read music. Another pastime of hers was embroidering dish towels and sitting and listening to the country music channel on television. Besides her active part in the Hunter's Dinner, Lois was involved in other aspects of St. Henry's Church over the years. Preceding her in death were her parents, a grandson, Corey Schoepp, a great-granddaughter, June Baldwin, a sister, Lola Alexander and a niece Jeanice Rasmusson. Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband Calvin of Henry, children, Diane York, Kevin (Linda) Schoepp all of Watertown, Doug (Stephanie Raasch) Schoepp of Henry, Karen (Tom) Miller of Iroquois and Gary (Tondi) Schoepp of Chanhassen, MN, 11 grandchildren, Chad, Jeff, Stacey, Tracy, Dylan, Harlee, Braeden, Casey, Lindsey, Blake and Greg, 7 great-grandchildren, Kiona, Grayson, Katelyn, Aria, Allison, McKayla and Justin and a sister, Doris Coyle of Watertown.
