Lois M. Moe, age 95, Clark, formerly of the Raymond/Garden City communities, widow of Melvin Moe, died in the Golden Living Center at Clark on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Visitation will begin on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 9AM at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark with funeral services beginning at 11AM in the Chapel. Pastor Donna Nickels will officiate with Dorothy Fuller as pianist and Greg Furness as soloist. The casketbearers will be Tim Mehlberg, Robert Wegman, Gail Filipek, Michael Hink, Robert "Pepper" Neal and Don Bowers. A luncheon will follow the services in the funeral home reception area. Following lunch, burial will take place in the Prairie Hill Cemetery at Bradley. She was born Lois Marion Forbragd on October 25, 1917 at Bradley, SD, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Olson) Forbragd. She attended a small country school through the eighth grade about 4 miles north of Bradley. After her schooling she worked for various ones at Webster, Watertown, Wallace and Bradley until her marriage to Melvin Moe on September 4, 1934 at Bradley. The couple moved to the Raymond area where they worked on the Ray Fine Ranch west of town. In 1940 they returned to the Bradley area farming 3 miles south of town. To this union 2 daughters were born, Leora Faye and Shirley Jean. In 1948 after losing their home due to a fire and moved into Bradley and stayed with James (Pat) Herron until 1953. They then returned to Raymond where she worked over the café belonging to a cousin, Leon Welch. Melvin died in 1962. She continue working in the Raymond lounge, a career that span over 20 years. She later worked at the Clark Lanes and then also at Fairfield (McCain Foods) living in Raymond until moving into the Garden Grove Apartments in Clark in April of 94. She has been living in the Golden Living Center since 2008 Lois was a member of the Raymond American Legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, daughters, Leora (Kenneth) Wallen & Shirley Moe, sister, Edna B. Forbragd and a brother, Melvin Forbragd. Survivors include a grandson Monte Moe, granddaughter Candyce Otteson and great-grandchildren.
