Lois M. McGillivary, age 86, Clark, formerly of Watertown, the widow of Lester, died in the Golden Living Center at Clark early Tuesday morning, October 13, 2015. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 beginning at 11AM at the Wesleyan Church in Watertown and will continue until the service time. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2PM in the Wesleyan Church at Watertown with Pastor Steve Biswell officiating. The pianist will be Sue Heavey. Serving as casketbearers will be Chad, Wade and Darin Anderson, Terry German and Robert and Randy Colclazier. A private family burial at the Graceland Cemetery near Henry will be held after a fellowship time in the church. She was born Lois Marie Bonfoey on June 4, 1929 at Garden City, the daughter of Edwin and Rose (Schaeffer) Bonfoey. Lois attended grade school and high school at Garden City graduating in 1947 at Salutatorian of her class. On June 24, 1947 she was united in marriage to Lester McGillivary at the Glad Tidings Chapel, later becoming the Wesleyan Church, at Garden City. After the closing of the Garden City Church, they joined the Wesleyan Church at Watertown where she served as a pianist for many years. The couple lived and farmed north of Henry, later moving to Wisconsin in the mid 1950's operating a dairy farm. They later returned to South Dakota and farmed about a mile east of the Graceland Church/Cemetery north of Henry. In the mid 1980's they moved and made their home at Lake Kampeska. As health declined, she became a resident of the Fay Wookey Memorial Assisted Living Center in Clark and in 2010 moved into the Golden Living Center at Clark. Although she spent many years helping on the farm, later in life she returned to continue her education and became a LPN working in Watertown at Jenkins Living Center and in Clark at the care center. She also worked for a period of time as a bookkeeper at Loken Sale Barn. In her free moments she loved to embroider, read, cook and bake. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Lester who died February 20th of 2009, brothers, Byrl and James Bonfoey and a sister, Geraldine (Lloyd) Colclazier. Grateful for having shared in her life are her daughters, Pauline (Daryl) Anderson of Doland, Margery (Pieter) Wouden of Rapid City and Bernie (Steve) Coyle of Watertown, 7 grandchildren, Chad, Wade, Darin, Dustin, Kristin, Brenda and Brad; many great-grandchildren and her siblings, Paul (Pat) Bonfoey of Sioux Falls, Jack (Jane) Bonfoey of Loveland, CO and a sister-in-law, Joyce Bonfoey of North Pole, Alaska. A special friend and cousin, Pat Klabo of Aberdeen, also survives along with a host of friends.
