Liola Edna Sutherland

Liola Sutherland, age 85, Henry, died at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on December 12, 2003, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December December 17, 2003 at 2:00 PM in the Our Savior's Lutheran Church near Henry with burial following in the Church cemetery. The Reverend's Kris Ferkin and Krista Henning-Ferkin will officiate. Music will be provided by Dorothy Fuller as organist and Duane & Char Peterson singing. Casketbearers will be Myron Eidsness, Harold Singrey, Bryce Gjerde, DJ "Pete" Hogstad, Tony Hogstad and Chuck Jenkins. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral services at the Church. She was born on September 20, 1918 at Henry, the daughter of John and Jessie (Schultz) Sutherland. She grew to adulthood in the Henry area graduating from Henry High School in 1937. Following her schooling she remained in the home caring for a brother and her parents. After her Father's death, she and her Mother moved into Henry 1977. She was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and its Women's groups. Grateful for having shared in her life is a Sister, Genevieve Hogstad of Waurika, OK, a niece, Rhonda Jenkins of Waurika, OK and nephews, DJ "Pete" and Lesley Hogstad of Byers, TX and Tony and Pam Hogstad of Duncan, OK and many great-nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and 4 brothers. The Furness Funeral Home of Clark is handling the arrangements.
