Linda Seefeldt, 78, of Clark, passed away on June 15, 2026, at the Prairie Lakes Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clark at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, a procession will commence to Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark, passing by the former Clark Flower and Gift store that Linda devoted much of her life to with her beloved sister-in-law Melanie Smith. Following interment, all are invited to return to the church to share in a time of fellowship and a meal. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Furness Funeral Home in Clark from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Linda Seefeldt was born on October 12, 1947, in Aberdeen, SD, to parents Louie and Elsie (Schilling) Barbknecht. She died on June 15, 2026, in Watertown, SD, following a brief illness.

Linda graduated from Hayti High School, where she was in many activities, going to All State Chorus and State Declam Contest. She graduated from SDSU where she was a member of Gamma Delta Religions Group and the International Relations Club.

She married Merritt Seefeldt, Jr. on March 21, 1970. After working as a social worker and primary school aide, Linda returned to SDSU to obtain her education degree. She then taught at Bradley High School the last five years it was open. She absolutely loved that job but all openings at that time for social studies teaching required coaching.

Their daughter Nicole was born May 25, 1977. She died with Linda by her side on January 29, 2026, from one of her rare diseases.

On Labor Day of 1977, Linda and Melanie Smith opened Clark Flower & Gift Shop in Clark. The shop was open for 47 years and won two awards from Gift & Decorative Accessories magazine. The ladies went to New York City to receive their awards which was very exciting. Linda and Melanie felt it was their mission in life to serve the community with care and personal involvement.

Linda had a weird sense of humor and loved inflicting puns frequently. She was a true cat person and always was for the underdog.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clark.

Nicole’s rare diseases led to many trips to New York City and Philadelphia, where the family saw iconic sites before Nicole’s many procedures and surgeries.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Edna and Babe Seefeldt, her husband, Merritt Jr. and her daughter, Nicole.
