Linda Marie Fuller, age 67, of rural Vienna, died early morning Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 at the hospital in Watertown with her husband and children at her side.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue at the Church at Watertown after 9AM on Monday.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Watertown Christian Church, 201 Golf Course Rd, Watertown, near Derby Downs. Following a dinner at the Church, burial will take place in the South Elrod Cemetery, near Clark, SD. The honorary casketbearers will be Trisha Rieffenberger, Mandy Maynard, Brittany van Zyl, and the Maynard Cousins. The active casketbearers will be Jason, Josh, Brad, and Jory Maynard, Rob, Dusty, and David Fuller, and Scott Kahre. Music will be provided by pianists Nancy Maynard and Dorothy Fuller with special music by Steve & Kathryn Ferguson, Joel Maynard, and David Maynard.
Linda was born June 22nd, 1950, in Watertown, South Dakota, the daughter of Wayne and Barbara Maynard of rural Clark.
Linda attended high school in Henry, South Dakota and was active in cheerleading, singing in the choir, playing in the band, class plays, and spending time with her friends. After graduating from High School, Linda attended South Dakota State University in Brookings. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree upon graduation in 1972.
On June 25th 1972, Linda married the love of her life, Wayne Fuller at the Clark Methodist Church. They moved to their home and farm in rural Vienna, South Dakota where she lived until her death. Linda began her career as a community health nurse for Deuel and Clark County and worked for two years.
On May 5th 1974, Linda gave birth to her son Justin and on August 5th 1976, Linda gave birth to her daughter Laura. In addition to raising her children, Linda was active in the South Lake Church of Christ and was part of "The Cousins" singing group. Her involvement in her churches and devotion to God was always present in how Linda lived.
In 1983, Linda resumed her career in the medical industry where she held several positions over the next 18 years. She was the organizer and charter President of the South Dakota Hospital Quality Managers Association. After her medical career, Linda found passion in teaching and became a special needs educator working in the Clark and Watertown School systems.
Upon retirement, Linda found joy in spending Winters in Arizona, where she became close with many friends and neighbors and one of her biggest joys in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Linda's faith in the Lord was the central part of her life and never wavered. She was baptized into the lord at a young age and her firm belief in God guided Linda throughout her entire life.
Linda is survived by her husband Wayne of 45 years; son Justin (Wendy) Fuller of Randolph, MN; daughter Laura (Nathan), Corbin and Silas Foote of Nashville, Tennessee; Nathanael Thompson of Pierre, South Dakota; mother Barbara Maynard of Watertown, SD; brother Mark (Arla) Maynard of Watertown, SD; brother John (Connie) Maynard of rural Clark, SD; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father Wayne Maynard and infant brother Michael.
