Lillian Marie (Regnier) Gross, Clark, died Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Prairie Lakes Hospital of Watertown.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home of Clark. Funeral services will be held at the Crocker Lutheran Church at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, with Minister Marion Grimes officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery of rural Bradley.
Lillian (Regnier) Gross was born July 6, 1938 to Elmer and Marie (Herr) Regnier, who farmed north and west of Crocker. She attended school in Madison, SD before moving north of Raymond, SD, where she attended school at Warren #4 Country School. She graduated from Conde Public School.
On February 3, 1957, she was united in marriage to Raymond Gross at the Crocker Lutheran Church. After their marriage, they lived north of Crocker for three years. In 1960, they moved to a farm fourteen miles north of Raymond. In 1997, Ray retired from farming and they moved to a place one and a half miles west of Clark.
Lillian enjoyed sewing and gardening in addition to raising her four girls and helping out in the fields on the farm. After retiring from farming, Lillian worked from 1980-2002 for the SD Potato Growers as an inspector. After the plant closed, she went to work at Gas Plus until 2009, the same year her beloved husband, Raymond, of 52 years, passed away.
Lillian kept busy doing quilts for the church and embroidery work on dish towels. Her four daughters and their families have been the highlight of her retirement. Her pets were spoiled and provided much entertainment for her.
She was a member of the Crocker Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She was active in the Ladies Aid at church and also a member of the Raymond American Legion Auxiliary.
Grateful for having shared in her life are daughters, Linda Robinson and friend Jay Clough of Pierre, Donna (Calvin) Rhody of Lake Poinsett, Carol Hurkes and friend Jim Suter, both of Watertown, and Karen Stout of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren, Mike (Jody) Finstad, Calonna, Donavin, and Caleb Rhody, Sabena (Isaac) Carter and Alysia Stout; three great-grandchildren, Rhiannon, Noah and Jordis Finstad; her sister-in-law Delcie Regnier of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband Raymond, her parents, siblings Arnold, Wayne, Lester and Walter Regnier, Pearl Stern, and Rosalia Ohleen; son-in-law, Dan Stout, and her brother and sister-in-laws.
Arrangements are entrusted to Furness Funeral Home of Clark where there is an online registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com.
