The family moved to Carpenter when he was 8 years old and he attended school across the road from where they lived. He met his wife, Judy Fox, and they were married on November 23, 1960. In September of 1964 they moved to the family farm and he has resided there until moving into the living center at Clark. Leonard will long be remembered as being a great horseman. He enjoyed horses all his life; riding, driving, and just getting together with his horse friends. Leonard always needed to keep busy building something or tearing something apart. He said, "I had so many more things I wanted to do!" Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister Joyce (Pete) Holt and a brother-in-law, Gene Brannan. Grateful for having shared in his life is his loving and devoted wife, Judy of Carpenter, son, Todd of Chandler, AZ and a daughter, Julie (Mark) Albers of Carpenter, grandsons, Andrew and Thomas Christensen and Benjamin Albers. Leonard had a special love for all of his in-laws and his family of fellow horse lovers. He also leaves siblings, Beverly (Ernest) Geyer of Bancroft and Lyle Christensen of Huron.
