Lena Wolf, 80, Denver, CO, formerly of Clark, died in the Christopher House at Wheatridge, CO late Saturday night, March 1, 2008. She was the widow of John Wolf. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Clark with the Reverend Bill Hamak officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery at Clark. Music will be provided by Eileen Heilman as organist. The St. Michael's Church Choir will sing with Brenda LaBrie as song leader. Casketbearers will be Gabe, RJ and Craig Wolf, Mason Mennenga, Joe Bowman and David Bjorklund. Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Thursday with a Rosary being said at 6PM all in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. The casket will be open at the church 1 hour prior to the Mass on Friday morning. She was born on December 26, 1927 at Hague, ND, the daughter of Gabriel and Mary (Welder) Welk. She attended country school near Hague, ND. Following her schooling she worked in a grocery store in Hague. On November 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to John Wolf at Hague. After their marriage they moved to a farm southwest of Raymond and began farming. In 1976 they moved into Clark. While living in Clark, Lena worked at the Warne Appliance Store for many years. John died on March 8, 2006. Lena continued making her home in Clark, living in the Roetell Assisted Living a short time before moving to Denver to be near her children. She was a faithful member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Clark, was active in the Altar Society, St. Elizabeth's group, taking care of the altar linens for many years. She enjoyed singing in the St. Michaels Choir, having been a member of a church choir since age 14. Some of her favorite times were spent crocheting beautiful tablecloths and doilies, tending to her apples and other gardening and canning. She will long be remembered for her love of playing cards and dancing, especially ready to dance to any polka at any moment. Another favorite pastime of hers was visiting and checking in on the neighbor ladies. She was also a longtime member of the Friendly Circle. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Dennis Wolf and wife Valerie of Brighton, CO, Carol Miliotes and husband David of Thornton, CO, Denita Uithoven and husband Dwight of Houston, TX, Richard Wolf and wife Leanne of New Salisbury, IN and Jerrilyn Wolf and husband Mike Locatis of Centennial, CO; four grandchildren, Mindy, Nikki, RJ and Gabriel; a great-grandson, Aiden Joseph; and siblings, Victor Welk of Fargo, ND, William Welk of Lodi, CA, Angie Wolf and husband Bill of Clark, Paul Welk and wife Sandy of Lodi, CA, Doris Hartze and husband Pete of Little Falls, MN, Jerome Welk and wife Ruth of Center Pointe, IA and Kathy Schumacher and husband David of Shakopee, MN. She also leaves sisters-in-law Joanne Welk of Schawano, WI and Trudy (Welk) Collins of Clark. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband John and siblings, Rose Seiler, Francis Welk, Florence Aberle, Harvey Welk and Charles (Chuck) Welk. Memorials would be appreciated in her memory to the National Alzheimer's Association.
