Leisha Holly(Nordtug) Gruenwald, age 30, Waterloo, IA, formerly of the Watertown and Clark communities died at her home in Waterloo, IA today, January 26, 2006 after an illness due to cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2PM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark with Minister Marion Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Valley. Dorothy Fuller will be the organist. Honorary Casketbearers will be Larry Brenden, Gerald Hartley and all other friends. Active casketbearers will be Todd Fieldler, Brad Furness, Les Solberg, Ty and Terry Evans and Steve Lundholm. She was born on November 21, 1975 at Cut Bank, Montana, the daughter of Les and Jackie (Reiner) Nordtug. In May of 1976 she was baptized in the Canyon Community Church at Coram, MT. She was confirmed in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Havre, MT. She attended grade school, middle school and high school in Havre, Montana graduating in 1994. On October 5, 1996 she was united in marriage to Rusty Golie. That same year she and her family moved to Clark. While living in Clark she worked at various businesses in Clark among them being the Sportsmans Bar, Mikes Time Out and Clark Liquors. On July 28, 2000 she married Rod Gruenwald. They lived in Clark for a short time before moving to Watertown. While living in Watertown she worked at Dollar, etc. and attended school at Mount Marty Watertown Campus taking courses in Criminal Justice. A short time ago she was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer. Her love for people and the strength she received from her children, Lauryn Jacqueline and Rodney Layne was what kept her going. Shortly after the first of this year, she moved with her children to Waterloo, IA where she planned to continue her education in the field on Criminal Justice. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Lauryn Jacqueline and Rodney Layne Gruenwald both at home, her mother and step-father, Jackie and Terry Evans of Bradley, her brother, Les Nordtug, Jr. of Albert Lea, MN, and her maternal grandmother and namesake, Holly Reiner of Clark. Also surviving are a step-grandfather Jerome DePute of Multa, MT and a step-grandmother, Mabel Evans of Clark. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Preceding her in death was her father, Les Nordtug Sr. and her younger brother, Layne. There will be no visitation.
