Kristine K. (Mrs. Alan) Rennie, age 64, Henry, died peacefully in the Jenkins Living Center at Watertown early Saturday morning, January 30, 2016 from complications due to a long and courageous battle of CREST Syndrome - a form of scleroderma.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home in Clark and will continue on Thursday morning after 10AM at the Church in Clark.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clark. The Reverend's Mindy Ehrke and Janet Miller will officiate. Dorothy Fuller will be the organist with Kyle Peterson as soloist. Casketbearers will be Mike Bevers & Brent Bevers, Eric McCarlson, Marie Hlavacek, Emily Correa and Duane Peterson.
She was born Kristine Kay Bevers on February 9, 1951 at Watertown, SD, the daughter of James M. and Harriet E. (McFerran) Bevers. Kris attended school at Hazel, then Richland rural school and at Henry. She graduated from Henry High School in 1969. Following high school, she attended the Pipestone Vocational School for Fashion Design.
On January 16, 1971 she was united in marriage to Alan J. Rennie at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clark. The couple lived in Clark until October of 1972 following their marriage. Alan began a career in the United States Air Force which took them to several parts of the USA. They lived at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota, Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City and then to Edwards AFB in California and later to Rosamond, CA, Madison, AL, Las Vegas, NV for 18 years and then the last 2 or so years, in Henry, SD.
While in Rapid City, she worked in the Fashion Industry, being employed by Geyerman's Clothing Company. After their move to California, she began a career in the Human Resource Department at Computer Science Corp as benefits administrator. Kris continued with that company in Alabama and after they decided to move to Las Vegas to be closer to her boys, she continued working for that company in the same department. After that business closed a contract in Las Vegas, she went to work at a golf store company as a benefits supervisor in the corporate offices and later at First Bank of Marian. In 2002 she was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and in 2005, she was told she had CREST Syndrome, a form of scleroderma. Alan retired in 2013 and became her full-time caregiver, they traveled in the motor home, trying to stay in warm places, as all of you know, the warmer the better for Kristine!
In her free time, Kristine enjoyed cooking, playing games on the computer, being with the grandchildren and of course, clothes shopping!
Preceding her in death was her father, James Bevers and a brother, William "Bill" Bevers.
Grateful for having shared in her life is her Mother Harriet Bevers of Watertown, husband Alan of Henry, sons, John (Kathy) Rennie and Brady (Deanne) Rennie all of Rosamond, CA, grandchildren, Kyle Larsen, Alan Rennie, Ryan and Lauren Daily and Garett Rennie. She also leaves a great-granddaughter, Sophia and siblings, Elsie McCarlson of Watertown and Kim (Roxanne) Bevers of Lake Norden.
