Kobe D. Weets, age 21, rural Clark, died on Monday, March 2, 2020, of apparent hypothermia exposure near Clark.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8PM at the United Methodist Church at Clark and will continue on Saturday afternoon 1 hour preceding services.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 3PM in the United Methodist Church at Clark with The Reverend Mark Tracy officiating. Honorary Bearers will be Ryder Hallstrom, Neil Spieker, and Layne Stromsness. Active Casketbearers are Billy Habben, Justin Gorter, Klinton Weets, Tatin Petersen, Rylee Griffith, Carson Griffith, Jordyn Denny, and Darin Weets. Burial will be in the Ruthton Cemetery at Ruthton, MN, at a later date.
The family requests casual attire for visitation and services.
Kobe D. Weets was born on September 23, 1998, at Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Darin and Jamie (Denny) Weets. The family lived at Pipestone, MN, until he was in second grade, and then they moved to Clark where he attended elementary school and graduated from Clark High School in 2017. While in high school, Kobe participated in football, golf, and FFA. He began working for Pipestone System near Clark at the age of 16 and has worked for them since, working in the gilt development unit as a lead. He was known as one of the best sow breeders on the staff.
Some of his hobbies included hanging out with friends, rock climbing, mudding, camping, and hiking in the Black Hills, Wyoming, and other areas. Going on a Vikings trip recently at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis was a highlight for certain.
Preceding him in death were grandfathers, Scott Denny, Henry Weets, and Andy Zephier, great-grandparents, Jerry Phillips and Shirley Denny, and aunts, Marleen Johnson and Marilee Hook.
Survivors include his parents, Darin and Jamie Weets, siblings, Kamerin, Kristian, Klinton, Mylee, Kathryn and Marilee Weets, and Gavin Fey. Also surviving are grandparents, Al and Barb Thompson and Wendy Zephier, and great-grandparents, Karen Albrecht and Dale Denny, and several other family members and friends.
