Keith Warren, age 88, Clark, died in the Clark Care and Rehabilitation Center in Clark on Friday morning, February 9, 2018 after a brief illness. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4-6PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue after 12 noon on Tuesday at the Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2PM in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark with The Reverend Mindy Ehrke officiating. Dorothy Fuller will be the organist and Roger Nordhus will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Keith's nephews Tom and Dale Hargens, Brad, Joel, Brett and Barry Warren and Daniel Falk. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present Rotarians and past bank employees. Burial with full military honors will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark.
Keith Albert Warren was born April 15, 1929 in Gilbert Township, Hand County, SD to parents Fred and Myrtle (Brown) Warren. He started school in Vayland, SD and then transferred to Miller School graduating 1946. His first job was at the First National Bank in Miller. He joined the US Army in 1951 and served his country honorably as a financial clerk until his discharge in 1953. Following his military service, he was employed by the Minneapolis First Service Corp as a bank examiner and worked in the credit department. While working at the First Service Corp, he met a fellow employee whom he fell in love with. On June 24, 1961, he married Joyce Falk at the Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. The couple raised two sons, David and James.
In 1965, the family moved to Clark where Keith served as president of the First National Bank. In 1967, he graduated from the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin where he also received a post graduate degree in 1973. Keith retired in 1990 which had become the Community First State Bank in Clark.
Keith was active in the community and various community organizations. He was a proud member of the Clark Rotary Club and served as the Assistant Rotary Governor and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award, was a First District Development 25 year Board Member, served on the Clark Industrial Development Association, and a 50 year member of the Clark American Legion. Keith also was a very active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church having served as an usher and on the church council.
Keith loved collecting Tom Clark gnomes, antiquing, watching sports, and pheasant hunting with family. He enjoyed raising yearling cattle with his son David and also assisting David in building a garage and home.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his son James, brothers Lloyd and Kenneth Warren, brother-in-law George Hargens, sisters-in-law Lois Warren and Jan Warren-Collings.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Joyce and his son David (LeAnn) Warren of Clark; grandchildren, Brock (Alexis) Warren of Clear Lake, Shantel Warren of Fargo, ND, and Bret Warren of Reno, NV; great-grandchildren Aiden, Jace, Cameron and Phoenix; siblings Lois (George) Hargens of Miller, SD, Lowell (Patty) Warren of Snohomish, WA; brother-in-law Bruce (Phyllis) Falk of Braham, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
