Keith A. Kruthoff, age 75, Sergeant Bluff, IA, formerly of Clark, died in the Embassy Care Center in Sergeant Bluff on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the United Methodist Church at Clark with The Reverend Dayne Zachrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Casketbearers will be Randy, Mark and Brian Helkenn, Rick and Richard Kruthoff, Harlan Becker, Roger Mitchell and Steven Niles. The organist will be Wanda Bethke with the congregation singing "On Eagle's Wings". Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and after 9:00 AM at the Church on Monday morning. He was born Keith Alan Kruthoff on September 6, 1935 at Willow Lake, SD, a twin son of Gilbert "Dick" and Hulda (Helkenn) Kruthoff. He attended school in Logan Township at the Logan School. He served in the South Dakota National Guard for a period of time. Keith was affiliated with the Methodist faith. He was united in marriage to Nancy Mitchell, to this union two children were born, Penny and Chris. The marriage later ended in divorce. Keith worked for the City of Clark for several years until retiring and moving to Iowa nearly 3 years ago. Some of his fondest moments were spent going to flea markets, garage sales and fishing, second to none though was his enjoyment of spending time with his grandchildren, making sure everyone had brownies. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Arlys Lindow and a special cousin raised by Dick & Hulda, Patsy Helkenn Wallum. Survivors include his children, Penny George of Remsen, IA, Chris (Crystal) Kruthoff of Watertown, his twin brother, Ken (Linda) Kruthoff of Sergeant Bluff, sister, Elaine (Jerry) Kettwig of Auburn, WA, grandchildren, Coral May Toben, Justin Elliot, Daymion Edward George and Oceanna Marie-Hannah George. He also leaves an aunt, Kathryn Becker of Clark and was affectionately known as Uncle Grandpa to Shelby, Barb and Don Murray, Mavrick, Savannah "Slowvanna", Aby, Heidi and Dan Bilben, Tina Kruthoff, Steven, Larry and Michael Niles, Roxy Kordonowy, Kristina Chance and Nathan Lindow.
