Keith Blashill, age 78, Crocker, died in a Yankton care facility early Monday morning, February 5, 2018.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and after 9AM on Friday morning in the Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11AM in the Furness Funeral Home at Clark with The Reverend Mindy Ehrke officiating. There will be a dinner served in the funeral home reception area. Burial will be at a later date in the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis.
He was born on March 27, 1939 in Bradley, the son of Arthur and Treva (Young) Blashill. Keith attended school at Garden City graduating in 1957.
In 1958, Keith enlisted into the United States Air Force where he served his country for 4 years, stationed in Grand Forks, ND.
On January 8, 1961 he was united in marriage to Elaine Orphie Rasmussen at Crocker and in 1964 a daughter, Robin, was born to this union. She was the joy of his life. Keith worked road construction for several years until they moved to Watertown where he worked for Snow Sales for 8 years.
In 1974, the couple moved to Rapid City where he was employed for the City of Rapid City for 30 years.
Some of the things he enjoyed in life were fishing, hunting, camping, and reading Louis L'Amour books, of which he had a large collection.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Bob and Larry and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Elaine of Rapid City; daughter, Robin (John) Bale of Hermosa; grandchildren, Gina (Tony) Reiger and Philip Bale all of Chadron, NE, Jessy and Justin Bale, both of Hermosa; a brother, Wayne Blashill of Henry; a sister-in-law, Lucille Blashill of Wall, SD and many nieces and nephews which were very special to him.
