Karen (Mrs. Norris) Peterson, age 69 of Bryant died on Thursday afternoon in a Sioux Falls hospital. Per her request, no formal services will be held at this time. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bryant later this spring with a date and time to be announced later. She was born in Illinois on December 3, 1938, the daughter of Margaret Louise (Sullivan) and Wilbur Gern Shelton. She attended school in Illinois. On December 2, 1967 she was united in marriage to Norris Peterson in Illinois. They lived in Illinois for 2 years before moving to Watertown. During the next 20 years they lived in several eastern South Dakota communities. In 1980 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where she owned and operated a cleaning/janitorial service. In 1986 the couple moved to Bryant where she worked in Lake Norden for a short time before becoming disabled due to health reasons. Some of her hobbies included growing flowers and watching television. Survivors include her husband Norris of Bryant (currently in the White Care Center), a son Edward of Brookings and a granddaughter, Amanda.
