Judith Elizabeth "Judy" Fox was born in Clark County, SD on October 15, 1942, the daughter of Walter J. and Viola M. (Kelley) Fox.  The family moved to Texas where she attended 1 st grade.  They returned to Clark County and she completed the remainder of her schooling at Clark graduating in 1960.  While in high school she was active in the music department and was a cheerleader.

On November 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to Leonard Joseph Christensen.  They lived, ranched and farmed near Carpenter their entire married life.  Leonard died on April 20, 2014.  Judy has continued living at Carpenter on the farm until her illness this past December when she became a resident of the Clark Care and Rehabilitation Center in January.  While living at Carpenter, Judy helped on the farm with the animals-horses, milking cows – going on trail rides, horse shows, and wagon train, growing a huge garden of vegetables and flowers, and antiquing.  She also enjoyed the dogs at the farm. Second to none though was visiting with her friends and family.  Beginning in 1966 she was Clerk and later Officer in Charge at the Carpenter Post Office.  She served at Postmaster at Yale until her retirement in 2000.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, nieces and nephews, and brothers-in-law, Gene Brannan and Dale Larson and a sister-in-law, Karen Fox.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Todd Christensen of Columbus, OH, and daughter, Julie (Mark) Albers of Carpenter and grandsons, Andrew and Thomas Christensen and Benjamin Albers.  She leaves siblings, Sharon Brannan of Clark, Joe (Arlys) Fox of Sioux Falls, Janice Larson of Watertown, Dianne (Bill) Altfillisch of Melette, Dean Fox of Clark and Darla (Rich) Larson of Eureka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the "We Care Foundation" in care of Julie Albers at Carpenter, SD.
