JOYCE THERESA DUNNIHOO LAMMERS

December 29, 1938 to January 8, 2023

Longtime Watertown resident, Joyce, peacefully passed away at her home Sunday, January 8th with her companion pet poodle Miley at her side. She had just passed her 84th birthday. Loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, Joyce was the first born child to her parents, Dale B and Helen Antoinette (Leisure) Dunnihoo who owned and operated a Watertown nursery. She attended Watertown schools and Grace Lutheran Church in her early years. While growing up, she loved rollerskating at Stoney Point Lake Kampeska. Joyce married Lloyd G Lammers Sr of Bemis August 27, 1956. They moved to the Clear Lake and Toronto areas where they worked and raised their three children. Joyce was employed for many years at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Clear Lake caring for their residents. They returned to Watertown when their children had grown and moved away from home. Back in Watertown, she worked at a local 7-11 and Midcom. One of the most kind, loving and hardworking people, Joyce was devoted to family and considered it a duty and blessing to care for others. She couldn't bear thinking of someone who had no one to care for them. Joyce loved cooking for her family and gathering everyone for holidays, birthdays and picnics. She loved collecting recipes and trying them out. Joyce always made so many special candies and cookies to enjoy at Christmas. She also enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.

Joyce was very close to her younger sister Pamela Kay (Gary) Malland of Watertown, brother Jerry (Joyce) Dunnihoo of Vancouver, Washington, brother Dale F Dunnihoo, and brother Jeff (Becky) Dunnihoo of Rapid City. She also had many cousins, nieces and nephews, half brothers and sisters and in-laws she cared very deeply about as well as her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved keeping in contact with all of them and would have wanted each one of them mentioned here by their names.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd Sr, her son Mark Eric Lammers, her brother Dale F Dunnihoo, her daughter-in-law Lori Lucille Staley (Lloyd Jr) Lammers, her brother-in-law Gary (Pam) Malland, her sisters-in-law Bernice Paulsen and Marion (Loren) Goos, her brother-in-law Dale (Gladys) Lammers, her brother-in-law Henry (Bette) Goldbeck, her half sister Elizabeth Good, and her half brothers Charlie (Marlene) Good and Douglas Good.

Joyce is survived by her children, Mary Jane and husband Terry Smith of Lake Tahoe and Lloyd G Lammers Jr (Lori) of Iowa, her sister Pam (Gary) Malland and her brother Jerry (Joyce) Dunnihoo, many other loving family members and friends including numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joyce will be buried with her husband of 54 years in the Black Hills National Cemetery in a memorial ceremony that will be announced at a later date.
