Joseph Henry "Joe" Roe, age 79, formerly a longtime Clark businessman, died on January 6, 2011 in Arizona due to primary central nervous system lymphoma. A memorial visitation will begin at 6:30PM on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark with a 7:30PM memorial service. The Officiant will be Pastor Fawn Lamb. A fellowship time will follow in the funeral home gathering area. All are invited to attend. Burial will be at a later time in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. The Furness Funeral Home of Clark is serving the family. He was born Joseph Henry Roe on March 28, 1932 at Buffalo, Wyoming, the son of Joseph Henry and Lillian May Roe. In 1940 his family moved to Couer d'Alene, ID where he was schooled graduating from Couer d'Alene High School in 1950. Joe was in the National Guard and then into the 5th Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge is attended North Idaho Jr. College prior to moving to Washington state. While in the state of Washington, Joe began a career in the potato industry. He worked for various firms in Washington among them being Taggares Enterprises. He and business partner, Al Schurek, purchased Fairfield Products in Clark in 1973 and the firm became known as Midwest Foods Corp. Joe served as partner and President of that firm, producing french fry's, until selling to his former employer in Washington, Taggares Enterprises. Joe managed the plant in Clark, Chef Reddy, for many years and later retired. Joe was married to Mary (Altfillisch) and the couple enjoyed retirement years together in Arizona, Taos, NM., Lake Madison, SD., Laughlin, NV. and Hill City, SD. Besides his parents preceding him in death, a son, Ricky Roe also preceded him.
