Jon Edward Baldwin

Jon Edward Baldwin, 53, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away September 19, 2023, at Bayfront Health Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Jon was born in Austin, MN, on November 5, 1969, the son of Darrel and Lorna Baldwin. When he was in first grade, the family moved to Clark, SD. Growing up, he enjoyed hunting and trapping in the outdoors, baseball, basketball and football. He graduated from Clark High School in May of 1988.

Following graduation, Jon became an EMT, progressed to a paramedic and lastly obtained a Registered Nurse degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He had a successful career as a firefighter, flight medic, Emergency Dive Team member, managed the Critical Care ambulance as an RN, worked in the Emergency Room, Hospice Care and prepped patients for procedures at Morton Plant Hospital. He loved his patients and took great care of them.

Jon enjoyed time spent relaxing at the beach and short trips in the area to Miami and the Miami Keys. He attended games of his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins and cheered on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the stadiums.

Jon is survived by his mother Lorna of Rapid City, SD, his sister Lynn (Stacy) Finkbeiner of New Underwood, SD, and his brother Jay Baldwin of Lake Poinsett, SD. His nephews and nieces include Jaron (Meghan) Finkbeiner, Jace (Laura) Finkbeiner, Jhett (Kaila) Finkbeiner, Jaedyn Finkbeiner, Morgan Baldwin and Maysa Baldwin. Great nephews and nieces include Tristan, Harrison, Gracelyn and Ada.

Aunts and uncles are Arlys (Jim) Frybarger of Rio Rancho, NM and James Baldwin of Hurst, TX. Several cousins also survive him.

Jon was preceded in death by his father Darrel Baldwin, grandparents George and Helen Baldwin and Forrest and Martha Beavers with aunt and uncles Ona (Wayne) Johnson and Willard Beavers.

Jon was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark with a family graveside Celebration of Life. Memorials may be mailed in Jon's name to the Clark County Ambulance, 100 S. Cloud St., Clark, SD, 57225.
