Jesse C. Lamp, age 83, Watertown, formerly of Willow Lake, died on January 9, 2012 in the Jenkins Living Center at Watertown. Masonic funeral rites will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. The rites will be led by the Antient Free and Accepted Masons, Concord Lodge #13 of Watertown. The casketbearers will be Eddy Rieke, Terry Leiviska, Rob Roussel and Kevin Sheafer. Dorothy Fuller will be the pianist. Visitation will be held after 10AM on Friday and will continue until service time in the funeral home chapel. Burial with full military rites being conducted by the Smith-Cagley Post#60 American Legion of Clark and the South Dakota Army National Honor Guard will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. He was born Jesse Cleveland Lamp, Jr., the son of Jesse C. Lamp, Sr. and Goldie (Hall) Lamp. Jesse was raised near Doland attending country school. He was united in marriage to Agnes Rieke on December 5, 1949 at Marshall, MN. The couple lived south of Doland and then moved to a farm northwest of Willow Lake. In April of 1954, he was inducted into the US Army and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict until be discharged in 1956. For many years while the couple resided at Willow Lake, Jesse carried rural mail for the first part of the day and then worked as a mechanic at the garage in Willow Lake with his brother-in-law, John Leiviska. In the mid 1960's they moved to Watertown and have resided there since. While living in Watertown he was engaged as a real estate broker and after retirement, assisted Dr. David Longworth with property management. He was a member of the Antient Free and Accepted Masons in Bryant and later transferred his membership to the Concord Lodge #13 at Watertown. Jesse was also a member of the Yelduz Shrine Temple at Aberdeen. Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Chuck, Warren, Cecil, Donald and Lorraine. Survivors include his wife Agnes of Watertown, many nieces and nephews and siblings, Butch (Guadalupe) Lamp of Pasadena, TX and Cora Stickler of Watertown. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Elaine Lamp of Willow Lake. Funeral arrangements are with the Furness Funeral Home at Clark. There is an on line registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com
