Jason D. Stormo of Watertown, SD, age 47, passed away peacefully in a Sioux Falls hospital surrounded by family, Monday, November 22, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4-6 PM at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 202 2nd St SE, Watertown, SD 57201 . PLEASE USE THE NORTH entrance to the Church. The visitation will be held in the Chapel at Grace Lutheran in Watertown .
Visitation will continue on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Clark at St. Paul Lutheran Church at noon until services begin at 1:30 PM. Preacher Jody Peterson will lead the services. Following the services, sub sandwiches and chips, furnished by Jimmy John's, will be provided in the Church basement. The casket bearers will be Eric, Michael, and Tyler Stormo, Jeff Bren, Paul McIntire, and Greg Benson. After a time of fellowship, burial will take place at Mount Hope in Watertown, SD.
He was born Jason David Stormo on October 28, 1974 at Watertown, SD, the son of Gregg and Sharon (Hagen) Stormo. Jason attended Clark Schools graduating from Clark High School in 1993. Following school, Jason worked for various businesses including the Watertown Public Opinion, Arby's and was currently employed by Jimmy Johns and The Argus Leader . He was a avid fan of the WWE Wrestling and even as a junior in high school, a hobby of remembering everyone's license plate in Clark. Jason loved cars, having several over the years, being very fussy in the way they looked!
On September 24, 2016 he was united in marriage to Lynnette Benson of Watertown at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clark. He had met the love of his life in 2010 in Watertown and the two courted until their marriage. Even though they had no children of their own, Jason took a liking to Lynnette's sister's boy Mason, as his buddy.
In his caring way, Jason had signed a donor card, which upon his death anything that could be used for others to live would be donated. After Jason's brain death on Monday the 22 nd , Life Source was contacted and Jason became a donor so others could live.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents and uncle David Hagen.
Survivors include his wife Lynnette of Watertown, parents, Gregg and Sharon Stormo of Clark, sisters, Kerri (Jeff) Yexley and Kristi (Lonnie Swanson) Stormo of Clark, an aunt, Clea (Bob) Urevig of Watertown, great aunt Clara Ness father and mother in-law Jimmy and Jayne Benson, sisters in-law Kimberly Benson and Lisa (Paul) McIntire, brother in-law Greg Benson, nieces and nephews and 1 great niece.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday School Fund or the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
