Jamie Norvell, the son of Connie (Bakken) and David Norvell, was born on October 31, 1972, in Watertown. He was a military son, traveling with his parents to Germany from Watertown. In Germany, Jamie and his mom loved to go sightseeing, walking the streets and taking many tram rides around the cities. He started school in Frankfurt, Germany, at the age of three.
After several years in Germany, in 1979 the family found their way to Corpus Christi, TX. In Texas, Jamie became an avid lover of sports. He loved watching all sports, from basketball to football to baseball. In High School, Jamie attended every basketball game he could. The basketball team appreciated his support so much that they considered him part of the team, gave him 'a letter' for his sportsman's coat, and invited them to their players' dinner. Jamie graduated high school in 1993.
After high school he worked at Goodwill for a year before convincing his mother to let him move to Watertown. Soon after moving, Jamie found that he absolutely loved Watertown. He had so many freedoms here. He could walk the streets and parks, shop around downtown, and even found a knack for gambling!
In Watertown, Jamie found work at Econofoods and at Pizza hut. He worked between these locations for many years. He retired from working a few years ago.
In his free time, Jamie enjoyed going to the races, catching just about any sporting event there was- especially cheering on the Watertown Arrows as well as professional teams the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Twins! He also participated in many Special Olympic events, even traveling out to the Black Hills to compete.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents; father, David Norvell; aunt, Diane Womack; and uncles, LeRoy Bakken and Jim Jordan.
Survivors include his mother, Connie Norvell; brothers, Dwayne Norvell and Daniel Norvell; and best friends, Jennie and Emily Kittleson.
