James (Jim) Jordon

James 'Jim' Jordon, 66, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly from Henry SD, passed away September 22, 2013. Jim was born at Webster, SD on November 25, 1946 to Phyllis (Christensen) Jordon Bakken. He attended school in Henry graduating from Henry High School in 1965. While Jim was in high school he worked for the Jim Arthur family farm. Following high school Jim enlisted in the Army. He served in Vietnam from November 27, 1965 until November 25 of 1967. After his discharge from the Army Jim lived in Michigan where he attended & graduated from college. In August of 1984 Jim married Cathy Contreras in Florida. They had 2 daughters. Jim was baptized at Good Hope Lutheran church and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran church in Henry. Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters Victoria & Ashley and two granddaughters, Kylie & Ana, two brothers Larry (Marsha) Bakken of Clark, Leroy Bakken of Mound MN and a sister Connie Norvell of Corpus Christi TX, an aunt, Clara Ness of Spearfish, SD and 3 nephews and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents Art & Phyllis Bakken and a sister Diane (Bakken) Womack and a brother Dale.
