He was born in Codington County, South Dakota, the son of Mathew and Freda Ruth (Bock) Babler on November 2, 1941. He attended school near Willow Lake at the Eggleston School until he was 10 when he moved to Redfield for his schooling. He then returned to Clark County and began his employment with farmers in the county as a farm-hand. Jim continued this line of work, his love of the land, until retiring last summer due to health reasons. Some of his favorite pastimes included camping, grilling out and spending time with his dogs. He loved the outdoors, spending time in the yard, especially mowing and could often be found on a favorite fishing spot. Grateful for having shared in his life is his companion of some 22 years, Frances Heeren of Clark, a sister, Barb Regnier of Watertown and a brother, Terry Reoh and wife Chris of Hinkley, MN and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and 2 brothers, Butchy and Billy Reoh. Email condolences to www.furnessfuneralhome.com
