Jacob M. "Jake" Waldner, age 76, Hillside Colony, rural Doland, died at his home on Friday, August 3, 2012 after a lengthy illness due to Parkinson's disease. Visitation will be at the Waldner home beginning at 4PM Saturday. There will be a wake service Saturday evening at Hillside Colony. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 2PM at Hillside Colony. He was born on December 24, 1935 in Canada, the son of Michael and Margareth (Tschetter) Waldner. Jacob was united in marriage to Elizabeth J. Waldner on July 3, 1960 at Huron Colony. He has lived and farmed at Hillside Colony for several years. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth, 8 children, Jacob (Darlyn) and children Jacob, Michael and Matthew, Margaret (Tim), Daniel (Heidi) and children Jason and Steven, Johnny (Christy) and children Derek and Elizabeth, Michael, Joann (Dave) and children Brandi, Abigail and Tony, Eli and Lonnie (Tanya) and children Christy Marie and Colin. He has had two sons go on before him, Herb and Vern. Survivors of them would be Herb's daughter, Kayla and Vern's wife Christina and children, Dylan, Brooklyn and Kristen. He also leaves 12 siblings, John Waldner, Joe (Sarah) Waldner, Paul (Mary) Waldner, Sam (Margaret) Waldner, Ernie (Debra) Waldner, Susie Wollman, Esther (Amos) Wollman, Kate (Emmanuel) Waldner, Anna Wipf, Mary (John) Waldner, Christina Waldner and Irene Waldner. Besides his sons, Herb and Vern, also preceding him in death were his parents, 4 siblings, an infant brother named Michael, Edwin and Michael Waldner and Margaret Glanzer and 2 brothers-in-law, Zack Wollman and George Wipf.
