Irene C. Seefeldt, age 94, Clark, formerly of Willow Lake, the widow of Clifford, died peacefully in the Golden Living Center at Clark early Friday morning, August 21, 2015. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and will continue 2 hours prior to services at the Church in Willow Lake. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 1PM in the Grace Lutheran Church at Willow Lake with The Reverend Keith Garness officiating. The organist will be JoAnn Eggleston. Those serving as casketbearers will be Tracy and Jimmy Dunbar, Roger Walline, Roy Dirksen, Owen Birkholtz and Clifton Bratland. Burial will follow in the Collins Cemetery at Willow Lake. She was born Irene Clara Dirksen on November 15, 1920, the daughter of Ralph Roolfs and Clara Anna (Rusche) Dirksen, near Bancroft, SD in LeSueur Township. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Bancroft High School in 1938. On February 16, 1941 she was united in marriage to Clifford Seefeldt at St. John's Lutheran Church at Bancroft. They lived and farmed in Rosedale Township, west of Willow Lake, their entire married life until moving into Clark in 1994. Clifford died on January 22, 2003. While living in Rosedale Township, Irene was very active in St. John's Lutheran Church and then later in the Grace Lutheran Church at Willow Lake where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was active in the women's groups. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting, playing cards, collecting spoons, gardening and canning, and will long be remembered for her love of baking. After their retirement from farming, they enjoyed several bus trips throughout the United States. Irene was also a member of the Willow Lake Lion's Club and had received the Lions Club International Foundation Community Service Award in the early 2000's. Currently she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clark and prior to her entrance into the Golden Living Center over 13 years ago, she also participated in various groups. Preceding her in death was her husband Clifford, a son, Darwin in 1973, a granddaughter, Marcie and siblings, Albert (Henrietta) Dirksen, Emma Moore and husbands, LeRoy Walline and Al Moore, Edward (Margaret) Dirksen, Viola (John) Bowman, Elmer (Myrtle) Dirksen, Erwin (Dorothy) Dirksen and Ralph Roy Dirksen. Grateful for having been a part of her life are her children, Eileen (Dennis) "Dee" Dunbar of Clark and Ronald Seefeldt and his fiancé Patricia Woods of Watertown, 7 grandchildren, Tracy, Jimmy, James, Julie, Jennifer, Bethany and Todd, 6 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
