Mr. Howard E. Graves of Anoka, MN formerly of the Clark community died at his home on Saturday evening, August 19, 2006 after a long illness. Services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 11AM in the United Methodist Church at Clark with the Reverend Warren Rhodes officiating. Burial with military honors by the Cagley-Smith American Legion Post of Clark will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Music will be presented by Dorothy Fuller as organist, a selection of "What a Wonderful World" and Roger Nordhus singing "Amazing Grace" Casketbearers will be John and Joe Arthur, Tom Hallberg, Kevin and Brent Wookey, David Warkenthien and Tom Graves. A Memorial Services was also be held on Saturday, Aug 26 at 11AM in the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church, 10506 Hanson Blvd. NW. Memorials preferred to the Church. He was born at Clark, SD on October 19, 1924, the son of Howard K. Graves and Cora Cochrane. He graduated Clark High School in 1943. Served in the Marine Corps South Pacific from 1944-1946. He married in February of 1949 to Loretta Burbank. The couple farmed near Clark until moving to Minneapolis in 1956. In 1960 moved to Coon Rapids and lived until 1982 then moving to Clear Lake, MN. In 1996 returned to Coon Rapids living there until recently. Mrs. Graves died in April of 2001. Preceded in death by parents, wife Loretta and a brother Edwin. He is survived by daughter Pamela Graves of St. Paul and a son, Steven Graves and wife Karen of Blaine, MN and two grandchildren Tom and Amanda. There will be no visitation.
