Helen Kruthoff

Helen M. Kruthoff, age 84 died November 28, 2016 while in care at Jenkins Living Center, Watertown, SD.

A memorial gathering will be held May 13, 2017 at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel, Clark, SD with visiting with family beginning at 9:30. A memorial video tribute will begin at 10:00.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark, SD.

She was born August 2, 1932 to Charles and Marcella Wegner in Willow Lake, SD. Helen married the love of her life, Marvin Kruthoff on June 24, 1952. While in the Willow Lake-Clark area, they had 3 of their 5 children, Margaret, Allan, and Marilyn.  In 1959, they moved the family to Concord, CA where they had their other children Michael and Dennis. In the summer of 1972, the family moved back to Clark, SD where Marvin could retire. After spending many happy years in Clark, they decided to move to Watertown to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Helen's life was full of love for family and friends. May she rest in peace with her husband and daughter and watch over her family as she always has.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marcella Wegner; her husband Marvin Kruthoff; daughter Margaret Kruthoff; infant granddaughter Melanie; sisters Mary Catherine Baylock and Cecelia Timm.

Survivors include son Allan (Karen) Kruthoff of Watertown; daughter Marilyn (Lyle) Christensen of Rapid City; son Mike (Dottie) Kruthoff of Rapid City; son Dennis (Missy) Kruthoff of Watertown; grandchildren David (Dawn) Christensen, Dustin (Jenny) Christensen, Zachary Kruthoff, Trevor and Trace Kruthoff; Anna West, Jamie (Bill) Soles; great grandchildren Kyrsten, Alyssa, Eli, and Brendan; sisters Lillian Rogness and Leona Hurley; brother Edward (JoAnn) Wegner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
