On January 23, 1970 in Aberdeen, SD, Collene (Uecker) and John Johannsen welcomed their baby girl, Heather Lynn Johannsen to the family.  With all of Collene's medical issues she was told not to have any more children, so on October 3, 1973, they adopted Darin into their family.  They lived near Mansfield until she was five when they moved to the farm north of Raymond near Grandpa Bill and Grandma Mavis Uecker. She was truly a cowgirl spending a lot of time on her horse attending horse shows and rodeos participating in barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying. Heather was also in 4-H where she showed cattle.  She attended Clark Schools graduating with the Class of 1988. Heather was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Raymond.

Following graduation, she lived for awhile in Jackson, MN before returning home. She worked at Payless Shoes in Watertown, SD Developmental Center in Redfield and the Double R Bar in Raymond before working twenty years at the Clark Nursing Home as a CNA and another two years as the head of the Dietary Dept. In 2012, following her dreams, she purchased the Double Expresso and in 2014 expanded her business, Heather's Bistro, to it's current location. She loved the business and chatting with all her customers.

Heather enjoyed camping, hanging out with her many close friends, spending time with family, and following her nephew, Sloan Johannsen, on the wrestling circuit.  She could be seen often driving the streets of Clark in her beloved Mustang convertible with her sidekick, Buttons. She lived life to the fullest going through the good and the bad with a strong will and determination. She was a fun-loving, compassionate, spunky gal who was strongly devoted to her family and friends.

Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and several aunts and uncles.

She leaves behind her brother, Darin (Amanda) Johannsen, Watertown, nephew, Sloan Johannsen, Watertown, many aunts, uncles, cousins and several very special friends.

Services are in care of Furness Funeral Home of Clark where there is an online registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com.
