She was born Hazel May Logan on May 6, 1916 in Darlington Township, near Clark, SD, the daughter of Albert Ward and Nellie (Dewitt) Logan. Later she moved with her family to Logan Township where she attended school and graduated from Logan Consolidated School in 1935. On October 10, 1936 she was united in marriage to Delmar Foiles at the home of her parents, Albert and Nellie Logan. Hazel and Delmar would have celebrated 79 years of marriage on October 10, 2015. The couple has lived and farmed in Logan Township since that time. In 1984 they built a home in Clark and moved into town. After a few years in town, the farm was calling Delmar and Hazel back. They returned to the farm off and on until they moved into the Fay Wookey Memorial Assisted Living Center in 2007. Hazel moved into the Golden Living Center at Clark in August of 2013. They were longtime and faithful members of the Logan Church until becoming members of the United Methodist Church at Clark. The couple had daily devotions and really loved worshiping the Lord. Even though Hazel never worked off the farm, she was very much involved in all the daily chores of farm living. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Darrel Foiles and siblings, Marvin (Mabel) Logan, Kenneth Logan, Byrl Logan, Mildred (Harold) Graves, Gladys (Robert) Schuck, and Donald Logan. Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband Delmar of Clark, daughter, Beverly Williams of Spokane, WA and her family, Terri Schneider and children, Dan (Clarissa) Schneider and son Landon; Kevin (Jenny) Schneider and children , Carter and Nora; Lori Williams (Scott Mannakee) of Everett, WA; a son preceded in death, Darrel (Rita) Foiles of Sioux Falls and daughters, Kristen (Kurt) Wolfswinkle and children Dreycen Foiles, Julia and Owen of Sibley, IA; Jennifer (Luke) Schulte and children, Landon, Maren and Preston of Sioux Falls and daughter, Arlys (Warren) Liebenow of Wayzata, MN and children J. In Lieu of flowers, memorials would be preferred to the United Methodist Church at Clark in her memory.
