Harold Reynold Reidburn, age 92, Clark, died in the Golden Living Center at Clark early Monday morning, August 13, 2012. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5-7PM at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. At Harold's request, a private funeral service will be held with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. The casketbearers will be Jeff & Jarvis Reidburn, Bob, Doug and Rich Cook and David Hoffman. Dorothy Fuller will be the pianist with Roger Nordhus as the soloist. He was born on March 5, 1920 on a farm northeast of Clark, the eldest born of Clarence and Eunice (Macer) Reidburn. His parents and a brother died of TB, a brother Clair at age 2 ½, his Mother at age 26, Father at age 31, which left the three remaining children, Harold, Bernard and Doris to live with grandparents and others. He attended country school and then graduated from Logan High School. Harold served his country from the fall of 1941 to May of 1945 honorably in the United States Army, being discharged at the rank of Staff Sgt. On March 26, 1946 he was united in marriage to Hazel Cook at Minneapolis. The couple lived and farmed in Logan Township following their marriage until retiring and moving into Clark in their present home in 1977. Besides his love of the land, he thoroughly enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in their sporting events, from baseball to football. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards, especially solitaire and since his confinement to a wheelchair, one could often find Harold out and about on the power chair, riding around his driveway, or out on the loop- usually with a grandchild on a bike leading or following. Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings, Bernard Reidburn and Doris Drake and a daughter-in-law, Deb (Wookey) Reidburn. Survivors include his wife of some 66 years, Hazel of Clark, children, Bill (Donna) Reidburn of Watertown, Ray (Jacki) Reidburn of Prescott Valley, AZ, Lon (Teresa) Reidburn of Clark and Sharon (Bruce) Milton of Brandt, SD, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Grace Reidburn of Des Moines, IA. Furness Funeral Home of Clark is serving the family. www.furnessfuneralhome.com
