Harold Kenneth 'Corky' Clausen, age 76, Clark, died in Watertown on Monday evening, June 27, 2005 after a long illness. He was born at Clark on December 15, 1928, the son of Herman and Mamie (Bockelmon) Clausen. He attended country school south of Clark. On October 10, 1949 he was united in marriage to Donna Claussen at Monetvideo. After their marriage he worked for various construction firms in South Dakota and California. In 1957 they returned to Clark and took over his Father's business and formed Clausen Construction Company, a business he has owned and operated with his sons since that time. Even though 'Corky' had turned over the operations to his sons in recent years, he still had a voice in the decisions that happened daily. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church at Clark. Some of his favorite pastimes included going to many high school activities, watching his children and grandchildren participate in. In younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping muskrats. He also thoroughly enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races. One might also have 'caught' him, while driving a gravel truck, yodeling. Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife Donna of Clark, children, Judy Parish and husband Mike of Watertown, Jeanne Werdel and husband Lee, Kenneth Clausen and wife Karen all of Clark, Mary Hurlbut and husband Rod of Raymond, Ron Clausen and wife Lisa and David Clausen all of Clark. He also leaves 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law, Arlene Clausen of Sacramento, CA and Anna Beth Clausen of Yankton. Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 brothers, Harland and Robert and a sister Betty Furness Funeral Home of Clark is serving the family.
