Grace L. White, age 95, of Clark, died at Avantara Clark Care Center early Thursday morning, October 10, 2019.
Visitation will be held on Monday night, October 14, 2019, from 5-7 PM with a Liturgical Wake Service beginning at 6PM all in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at 10AM in the St. Michael's Catholic Church at Clark with The Reverend Daniel Smith celebrating. Music will be presented by St. Michaels Church and Kathy Alwin as soloist. Casketbearers will be members of her family. Following a lunch, burial will be held in the Prairie Hill Cemetery at Bradley.
Grace LaVerne Gross was born on December 2, 1923, at Clark, the daughter of John R. and Tillie (Bjerke) Gross. She attended school at Bradley and Conde. Following her schooling she moved to Seattle and worked for Boeing helping build airplanes. Later she returned to Clark and worked for Brown Café.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Robert White on September 3, 1947, at Conde. The family lived at Clark, moved to Bradley in 1972 and has lived back in Clark since the summer of 2001. She worked for various businesses in Watertown and Webster over the years, retiring in the mid 1980's. Bob died in 1990.
Grace was a devout member of the Roman Catholic faith. For several years her membership was at St. Michael's Church in Clark, at the St. Michael's Altar Society and at the Bradley cemetery association. She enjoyed country music and will long be remembered for her love of baking, gardening, and being outdoors.
Preceding her in death were her parents children, Judy (Dennis) Lyke, Jeffrey White, Fred White, and an infant son, David John White. Grace was also preceded in death by grandsons, Shane and Cody and all of her siblings, Lawrence, Glen, Frank, Frances, Edward, Helen, Dorothy, and Pearl.
Survivors include her children, Larry (Kathy) White and Debby (Francis) Hass all of Raymond, a daughter-in-law, Cindy White of Ft. Dodge, IA, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
