Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Garden City United Methodist Church with Rev. Jen Tyler officiating. Sharon Stormo will be the pianist. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Bruce Paulson, Jim Paulson, Wayne Fletcher, Mark Foster, Russ Foster and Norman Alexander. Burial will be at the Garden City Cemetery. Gordon L. Huber was born in Rockham, SD on May 7, 1921 to Walter Henry and Lydia Esther (Schultz) Huber. Gordon attended school in Rockham. Gordon was a life-long farmer, who loved the land. He started as a farm hand during his schooling years all the way into the 1930's. In 1941 he and his brother rented a farm and moved to Garden City. In 1942, Gordon and his brother bought a farm together. While farming, he did custom work for area farmers. In 1992 he sold his farm and ended up wintering in Texas for 9 years. He returned to Garden City during the summer and planted trees for the Clark County Conservation District. Gordon moved into Clark in 2001 and then to White in 2010. Gordon was a member of the Garden City United Methodist Church. He loved dogs, working with trees, traveling and farming. Neighbors and family were very important to Gordon. He took pride in establishing the Gordon L Huber Scholarship Endowment to assist local students attending SDSU. Gordon is survived by his siblings; Lorraine Schneider of Redfield, Luverne Huber of White and Charles (Mary) Huber of Tillamook, OR, along with several nieces and nephews. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lucille Larson and Alta Sundquist and a nephew, Carl Schneider.
