Glen Harding, age 89, Aloha, OR, formerly of Garden City, SD, died on Friday, September 19, 2008 in a care center in Aloha. He was born at Garden City, SD on January 5, 1919, the son of Archie and Phoebe Harding. He attended a one-room school near Garden City and then graduated from Garden City High School in 1936. Following his graduation from high school he moved to California and began a lifelong career as a machinist. He served his country during WWII in the US Army as an infantryman in Europe. Following the war time duties, he served as a guard at the Nuremburg Prison during the war trial. In 1941 he was united in marriage to Bernice Lueders and to this union two sons were born, Keith and Kevin. In 1960 they moved to Hillsboro, OR. She died in 1966. In 1967 he married Eunice Jones and they later divorced. In 1987 he was united in marriage to Helen Loomis, they were living in Garden City at the time of her death in 1996. His lifelong interests included working on clocks and watches, operating a ham radio as K7OMK and playing music, especially on the organ. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wives, one brother Merle, and one sister, Gladys who died as an infant. He is survived by one brother, Robert (Carolyn) Harding of Clark, SD; one sister, Luena Hendrickson of Clark, SD; his sons Keith & Chris Harding of Umatilla, OR and Kevin & Carolynn Harding of Aloha; 13 grand children, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Memorial Services and burial will take place in Oregon on October 11, 2008. Furness Funeral Home of Clark is serving the family locally.
