George "Cowboy" Mc Thompson

George MC "Cowboy" Thompson, age 69, Garden City, died at his home in Garden City on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 7PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. A private burial will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date. George was born in Frankfort, Germany on October 4, 1946 to a Military father, George Charles Thompson and a French born mother, Leone Mauricette Sempe. He came to the United States at 3 years old and lived in New Jersey. He stayed there until his sister was 4 and he was 7 and the family moved to Alaska. They were there for a short stint and went back to Germany. Stayed a year then back to Alaska then back to Germany, France, Italy, Germany and finally the U.S.A ending up in Florida. They were there for several years then George went back to Germany where he finished school and graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School in 1965 in Germany. George joined the Air Force and after his stint was over he returned to Pennsylvania where most of the Thompson family lived.   George married and had a beautiful little girl on July 20, 1983 Nicole Marie Thompson she was the joy of his life. He has 3 wonderful step children from this union as well and did remain close with them after the union ended. Several years later George ran into and married the love of his life and soul mate Pat Taylor. They had met many years earlier when he was working the Carney circuit he always said she was the one that got away. This time it was not going to happen, she had been the person who had given him the Sultan head ring all those years ago when he met her in the Carney and he never took it off. The irony in this was it only lasted 8 short years and Pat died in his arms from cancer and he never really recovered from her death. He moved here shortly after Pats death and Nicole was the person who was with him during the last 5 days of Pats life helping him and the 5 days following her death making the funeral arrangements she was his rock when he needed her and he loved her. Later in life he moved to Garden City, SD where he retired. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, riding Harley's and being with friends playing cards and chess. Preceding him in death was his father, George Charles Thompson. Survivors include his Mother, Leone Mauricette Sempe, a daughter, Nicole Marie (Josh) Dunsmoor, granddaughters, Maria Helene and Annabella Lynn Dunsmoor, sisters, Mildred Catherine Thompson-Stumpp and husband Bill and Maria Theresa Madeline Jones-Peterson and husband David. Also surviving are nephews, Billy and Eric Stumpp, Edwin Leslie Parker Jones and Henry Gene Maurice Jones, nieces, Kathy Stumpp, Carrie Ann Jones and Caroline Raufi Jones and  grand nephews, August Richard Jones, Jonathan Raufi Jones, Christopher Stumpp and Ryan Stumpp and a grandnieces, Sierra Raufi Jones & Jennifer Stumpp. Arrangements are  with the Furness Funeral Home at Clark where  there is an on-line registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com
