Francis Heer, 93, of Clark, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Avantara-Clark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm at St. Michael Catholic Church of Clark with Reverend Richard Baumberger as celebrant. Francis was born October 11, 1930 on the family farm southeast of Doland, SD, to Albinus "Ollie" and Mary (Wehland) Heer. He was the seventh child of eleven born into the family. He lived his entire life on the farm and farmed with horses in his early years. As older siblings were moving away, he and his older sister, Alice, stayed and helped their aging parents and never left the farm. Francis farmed and raised cattle, sheep, and pigs for many years. He and Alice also raised chickens and sold eggs and donated thousands of eggs over many years to organizations like Bishop Dudley House, Good Shepherd and others. After Alice passed, he continued to raise chickens and donate eggs until he was physically unable to do it any longer.

He is survived by his younger sister, Teresa Bau of Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and siblings, Cecilia Terpstra, Mary Lucy Stahl, Anna Mary Heer, John Heer, Agnes Gereaux, Alice Heer, Clara Heer, and two sisters in infancy, Anastasia and Lucy.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Furness Funeral Home in Clark, SD. ( www.furnessfuneralhome.com )
