Francis E. "Red" Stacey, age 92, rural Bradley, died in the Prairie Lakes Hospital at Watertown on Tuesday evening, September 3, 2019 with family at his side.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11AM at the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark with full military honors.  Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate.   In the case of inclement weather the service will be held at the Furness Funeral Home.  Following the graveside, a luncheon will be held in the Furness Funeral Home Fellowship area.

Francis E. "Red" Stacey, age 92, rural Bradley, died in the Prairie Lakes Hospital at Watertown on Tuesday evening, September 3, 2019 with family at his side.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11AM at the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark with full military honors by the American Legion Post 17 of Watertown and the Army National Honor Guard.  Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate.   In the case of inclement weather the service will be held at the Furness Funeral Home.  Following the graveside, a luncheon will be held in the Furness Funeral Home Fellowship area.

Francis Earl Stacey was born to Thomas Everth and Ellen Jane (Clyde) Stacey on the old Hayward place, SW of Garden City, SD.  Red as he became known, was baptized in the Garden City Methodist Church. He attended school at Lily through the eighth grade.

Red went to work on the Milwaukee Railroad out of Garden City and then enlisted into the US Army in 1945 at Fort Snelling, MN.  He served in Seoul, South Korea and the Pacific Theater.  He was honorably discharged in December of 1946 at Fort Lewis, WA.  He began farming in 1949.

He married Lois Beverly Lundholm on March 8, 1954 at the Baptist Church in Bradley.  The couple have lived and farmed in Maydell Township since their marriage.  While farming, he also served the community as Treasurer of Maydell School and Chairman of the Maydell Township Board.  On the farm he raised cattle and in his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Red was a member of the Watertown Legion Post 17 for 61 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Agnes Lyngbye, Margaret Peterson, Maxine Hughes, Doris Peterson, John Stacey, Earl Stacey, Dorothy Vick, Mary Ellen Bergen, Russel Stacey, and Betty Stacey.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, a sister, Ida (Charles) Lundholm, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Stacey and in laws, Dorothy and Junie Lundholm along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
