Faye Lower was born at Howard on May 6, 1919, to Guy and Margaret (Theophilus) Lower.  Faye and her family moved into Howard when she was five years old.  She was schooled in Howard and graduated from high school there. While in High School she worked at Rafferty's Drug Store.  Following high school she attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls.

Her brother Bob attended SDSU, majoring in Pharmacy.  He introduced Faye to Alger "Al" Knutson, also a pharmacy student from Artesian, SD.  The couple married in 1942 in Durham, NC, where Al was stationed in the Army.  Faye was doing bookwork for a doctor in the area.  Following his discharge, the couple moved to Clark in 1946 where he worked for Wilkins Drug Store.  He bought the store in 1948 and he and Faye worked side-by-side until 1993, with Faye doing the bookwork.  Al died in 1995.

Faye continued living in her own home until January of this year.  Faye was involved in several community groups over the years including women's clubs, extension clubs, and card clubs.  She took several bus trips around the USA including Alaska.  Faye also enjoyed taking painting classes as a hobby.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Al, and siblings; Bob and Jack.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and their families, and her church family at St. Paul Lutheran in Clark.

The Furness Funeral Home at Clark is serving her family where there is an on-line registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com
