Esther Florence Spiczka, age 85, Clark, the widow of Severin Spiczka died in the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls on Tuesday evening, March 1, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 11AM in the St. Michael's Catholic Church at Clark with the Reverend Bill Hamak officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery at Clark. The music will be provided by Eileen Heilman as organist with Bonnie Graves and Jackie Schlagel leading the singing. The staff of the Fay Wookey Memorial Living Center will be the honorary casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-6PM with a Liturgical Wake Service and Rosary being held at 6:00 PM all in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. There will also be visitation 1 hour prior to the services at the Church on Saturday. She was born on June 29, 1919 at St. James, MN, the daughter of Ben and Ida (Engelbrecht) Hudson. She attended school in the St. James area. On April 15, 1945 she was united in marriage to Severin Spiczka in South St. Paul, MN. The family lived St. James, MN until moving to Coon Rapids, MN. While living in Coon Rapids she was employed at Postmark. In the late 1970s they retired and moved to a home at Lake Kampeska. Mr. Spiczka died on November 28, 1981. She continued living at the lake until moving into Watertown in the late 1990s. In 1998 she moved to Clark and became a resident of the Fay Wookey Memorial Living Center. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking. Some of her fondest moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, even enjoying mending and patching for them. While living in Coon Rapids they were members of the Epiphany Catholic Church. Grateful for having shared in her life are her daughters, Rose Ann Jenkins and husband Mike of Florence, Montana, Judy Bowers of Raymond, Janet Guest and husband John of Clark and Geraldine Holland of Watertown; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 4 sisters, Deloris Wright and Idele Peterson both of Mankato, MN, Darlene Klaras of Elgin, IL and Janette Anderson and husband John of Thief River Falls, MN. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, 7 sisters, Irene, Agnes, Mildred, Ethel, Fern, Lucille and Beverly and 2 brothers, Chester and Lester.
