Edna D. Temple, age 92, Clark, died on Friday morning, May 21, 2004 in the Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark following a brief illness. She was the widow of Lars Alfred Madsen and William Temple. Services will be held on Monday, May 24, 2004 at 10:30 PM in the Peace Lutheran Church(WELS) at Clark with the Reverend Mark Guthmiller officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery at Clark. Following the committal, everyone in invited back to the Church for a dinner and a time of fellowship with the family. She was born on March 15, 1912 in Clark County, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Lena (Gloe) Bobzien. She attended country school. On October 8, 1930 she was united in marriage to Lars Alfred Madsen at Clark. The couple lived and farmed in Garfield Township until his death on June 23, 1960. She continued living on the farm until her marriage to William Temple on June 9, 1961 at Watertown. The couple then lived and farmed in Hague Township until moving into Clark in 1969. Mr. Temple died on July 20, 1971. She has continued residing in her own home until early this year when she moved to the Roetell Senior Living Center at Clark and for the past few days was a resident of the Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark. She was a longtime member of the Peace Lutheran Church at Clark. Some of her favorite pastimes were spent embroidering, gardening, canning, baking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Second to none though was her love of cooking for family dinners for all occasions. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Cecil Madsen of Sioux Falls, Alice Heim of Clark, a sister, Stella Sasse of Clark, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, a son-in-law, William Jongbloed of Wahpeton, ND and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Bobzien of Clark. Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, a daughter, Darlene Jongbloed, 3 grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, a brother Elmer Bobzien, a son-in-law Orville Heim, and a brother-in-law Alfred Sasse. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home in Clark and after 9AM on Monday at the Church in Clark.
