Edna L. (Mrs. Melvin) Reinschmidt, age 89, longtime Clark resident died in a Watertown hospital on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11AM in the United Methodist Church at Clark with the Rev. Warren Rhodes and Pastor Grace Rhodes officiating. Musice will be presented by Dorothy Fuller as organist and Roger Nordhus singing. Casketbearers will be Shane Andresen, John P. Reinschmidt, Michael J. Darnely, Reg Nelsen, Gary McDonald, David Paulson, Dennis Howard and Bill and Richard Allison. All of Edna's Bridge Club(s) members will be honorary casketbearers. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and 2 hours preceding the services at the Church on Saturday. Edna Lucille (Mrs. Melvin) Reinschmidt, age 89, a longtime resident of Clark, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 in the Prairie Lakes Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on August 3, 1915 at Blunt, SD, the daughter of James Augustus Gus and Mary Frances (Reed) Howard. She attended school in Blunt graduating in 1933. During the depression, she helped around the family home until her marriage to Melvin Reinschmidt on August 2, 1936. The couple was married in Blunt. Following their marriage they continued living in Blunt until moving to Bryant in 1945 where they owned and operated Mels Place. In 1950 the couple moved to Clark and operated the Clark Jewelry Store until 1962. It was in that year they purchased the Clark Abstract and Title Company, a business they operated until retiring in 1977. They continued making their home in Clark until moving into the apartments near the Fay Wookey Memorial Living Center in Clark a short time ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Clark and its womens group and also a member of the Eastern Star. Some of her fondest moments were spent playing bridge and other card games, playing a round of golf, traveling and spending time with her family. She will long be remembered for the beautiful sweaters and other items she sewed and knitted. Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband, Melvin of Clark, a daughter, Helen Darnley and husband Michael of Ramona, CA, a son, John H, Reinschmidt and wife Karol of Watertown; 4 grandchildren, Michael Darnley and wife Victorie, Kristin Vazquez and husband Toby, Dawn Andresen and husband Shane and John P. Reinschmidt and wife Lisa; 9 great-grandchildren, Chandler, Grady and Daisy Vazquez, Dylan Darnely, Julia and Nathan Andresen, Andrew (Drew), Alyssa (Aly) and Anna Reinschmidt and many nieces and nephews.
