She was born on July 10, 1938 at Bradley, the daughter of John and Marie (Brekke) Muehleisen. Dorothy attended country school in Thorp Township through the eighth grade and then helped on the family farm.
On May 10, 1958 she was united in marriage to Melvin Sehnert. The couple lived on the Lederman place near Crocker. They lived with their family on various farms near Crocker. Dorothy was never afraid of work, spending countless hours laboring on the farm, gathering eggs, washing eggs, selling them to Nelson Produce in Bradley, digging potatoes for various farmers in the area, especially the Yexley's and the Arthurs, and working long hours at Chef-Reddy and McCain Foods for some 26 years. After Melvin's death in 2001, she and grandson TJ lived in Clark and then she later moved in with her sister Barbara and brother Rochester. After his death, she continued living with and helping Barbara until Barbara moved into the care center. For a period of time she shared her home with daughter Patty and husband Roger & grandson Alan. In January of this year, she moved to the Country View Assisted Living Center in Florence.
Many will remember her love of fishing, especially for bullheads, playing Bingo, and on the farm, loved lambing and taking care of a very large garden and canning for her family. Another favorite pastime for Dorothy was spending time at Greeny's, everyone knows why!
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, Vernon, grandsons, Kalob & Zane, Great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Maddie, siblings, Rochester, Marlin, LeRoy "Sparky", Larry Lee, and Barbara and a son-in-law, Myron Regnier.
