Dorothy D Schoepp

Dorothy Darlene Schoepp passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 in the Avantara Care Center in Clark at the age of 87 years after dealing with cancer for the past few years.  She was the widow of Robert Keith Schoepp.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with The Reverend Richard Fox officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9AM-10:30 AM at the Church on Wednesday morning.  Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery at Watertown.

Dorothy was born in Watertown, SD on May 1, 1934, to Claude and Lydia Tessier. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1952. Following graduation, she worked in the law office of Stover, Beardsley, and Osheim; which entailed working in Pierre, SD during legislature with the enrolling and engrossing of legislative bills. She was later employed as office manager for the Watertown Chamber of Commerce.

On August 24, 1957, she married Robert K. Schoepp at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown. Following their marriage, they lived in Watertown for a year and then Omaha, NE, Lincoln, NE, Huron, SD, Redfield, SD, and back to Watertown in 1988.

They raised three children and shared their lives until Robert "Bob" passed away on October 20, 2016.

Dorothy was an active member of ESH a working girls sorority, holding offices in the organization, as well as attending conventions and formal affairs. She learned to play bridge while living in Lincoln which led to joining several bridge clubs throughout her life. She was a member of the Catholic Altar Society which involved assisting with activities at the church in all the areas she lived.

After moving back to Watertown, she was the office manager for Younger Living Health products but also enjoyed traveling to warmer climates during the winter.

Bob and Dorothy welcomed six grandchildren and enjoyed attending many of their activities and visits throughout the year.

Dorothy is survived by Tim (Sharon) Schoepp of Dell Rapids, Scott (Melanie) Schoepp of Ellsworth, WI, and Lori (Dennis) Klinkhammer of Albany, MN. Six grandchildren, Jared Schoepp, Brittany (Jon) Schoepp-Wong, Tanner and Trapper Schoepp, Nick Klinkhammer, and Courtney (Kevin Keller) Klinkhammer, along with two great grandchildren, Hugo Schoepp-Wong and Matilda Keller. She is also survived by brother Darwin (LaVila) Tessier, Yankton, and brother-in-law Herbert Schoepp and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Darrell (Virginia), Richard (Justine) Tessier and brothers-in-law Donald (Marguerite), and Calvin (Lois) Schoepp.
