Dorothy Mae Jensen

Dorothy Mae Jensen, age 74, DeSmet, died in the Golden Living Center at Lake Norden on August 3, 2016,

Funeral services were held privately at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 6, 2016. Pastor Mark Tracy officiated. There will be no public services held.

She was born Dorothy Mae Aalbers at Lake Preston, SD, on August 27, 1941, the daughter of Garrett and Fern (Hein) Aalbers. She attended schools in Kingsbury County.

Dorothy married James "Jim" Jensen and to this union, 2 children were born. The couple lived in DeSmet, Spearfish and in the State of Washington.

Dorothy worked in various employments including the food store, Safeway. They returned a short time ago to DeSmet when her health failed. In November of last year, she entered the Golden Living Center at Lake Norden.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Donald Aalbers. Also preceding were brothers-in-law, Myron Westby and Ron Wynn.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband James "Jim" Jensen of DeSmet and her children, Bruce (Julie) Jensen of Spearfish and Stacy Nice of Everett, WA and a granddaughter, Shelby Hasting also of Washington. She also leaves 7 siblings, Deloris Wynn of Wahpeton, ND, Beverly Westby of Lovington, NM, Patricia (Terry) Vincent of Elkton, SD, Kenneth Aalbers of Soap Lake, WA, Terry (Karen) Aalbers of Amarillo, TX, and Nancy (Gary) Miklos of Arlington, SD.
