Dorothy L. Hinman, (Mrs. Ron)  age 84, Raymond, died peacefully in the Golden Living Center at Clark late Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-6 PM at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and 1 hour preceding services at the Church on Sunday.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2PM in the First Presbyterian Church at Raymond with Commissioned Ruling Elders Michelle Mehlberg, Mary Filipek and Pastor Donna Nickels officiating.   The pianist will be Deb Waldner.  Casketbearers will be Elliott, Eric, Chuck, Ryan, Andrew and Zack.   Burial will be in the Prairie Valley Cemetery at Raymond.

She was born on October 30, 1931 at Grady, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy and Minnie Ada (Scifres) Crownover.  She attended school in Oklahoma, graduating in 1951 from Mountain Home High School.  While in high school she played basketball. In the early 1950's she worked as a nurse's aide.

On January 16, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ronald Hinman at Ft. Worth, TX.  The couple lived in Ft. Worth from 1953-1955 and then moved to a farm in Logan Township where they raised a family and have lived there since.

In 1968 she began work for the Raymond School as an aide, a career that spanned for the next 27 years.  After the Raymond School closed, she transferred to the Clark School System.  Most of her career she worked as an aide in the Kindergarten classes.  She loved to be with and help children.

She was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church at Raymond and the Presbyterian Women.  Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.  Some of her pastimes included reading, crocheting, crafts and bird watching.  Dorothy and Ron also enjoyed countless hours of traveling around the states, going to Texas during winter months and a fun trip to England.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Marie Booker and a brother-in-law, Bill Ewing.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband Ron of Raymond, and children, Steve (Cindy) of Castle Rock, CO, Rhonda Hinman of Renton, WA, Gayle (Andrew) Hillner of San Rafael, CA, Pam (Jim) Davis of Myrtle Creek, OR, Shelly (Chuck) Keyes of Monticello, MN, and Craig Hinman of Raymond; 4 grandchildren, Elliot, Emily, Eric, and Ryan; 5 great-grandchildren, Zeke, Sully, Sarai, Payton, and Ruby.  She also leaves siblings, Curtis (Lazunae) Crownover, Martha (Bob) Pike, Melba Ewing, all of Texas, Cleo (Dan) Bristol of Florida, and Diane (Eddie) Weger of Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church at Raymond or the National Audubon Society.
