Donna C. Horst, 62, of Garden City, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 4-6 PM at Arne-Weerts Funeral Home in Clark. Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Garden City United Methodist Church with Rev. Jen Tyler officiating. Wendy Christman will be the pianist/soloist. Pallbearers will be Jerry Johannasen, Jeff Fox, Richard Michalski, Robert Kimbrough, Darwin Clyde and Norman Alexander. Burial will be at the Garden City Cemetery. Donna C. Horst was born at the Mable Stacey residence in Clark on April 12, 1951 to Donald William and Lucille Carol (Humphrey) Stacey. She attended grade school in Bradley, Garden City and Clark until the 8th Grade. After her schooling, Donna worked at a restaurant in Clark. She married Harry H. Horst on January 16, 1971 in Ipswich, SD. They moved to Timber Lake, then to Wasda and then to Rapid City. Donna worked at Douglas school cafeteria at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Harry and Donna then moved to Garden City in 2003. She was a member of the Garden City United Methodist Church and the Legion Auxiliary. Donna was a homemaker who loved gardening and canning. She also loved animals, shopping with her mother and collecting antiques; such as angel and unicorn keepsakes. Donna was an independent woman who loved her friends and family. Donna is survived by her husband of 42 years, Harry of Garden City, children; Melody (Robert) Kimbrough of Gillette, WY, Robert Horst of Garden City, Michael Horst of Sioux Falls, mother; Lucille Blashill of Hayti, sisters; Bonnie Saltzman, Jody (Jerry) Johannasen, Patty Hauk all of Wall, SD, Liz (Jeff) Fox of Bellevue, NE, Lisa (Richard) Michalski of Great Falls, MT along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by her father, step-father and two brothers.
